If He Won't, I Will

 

"You look... Gorgeous" I said while admiring her beauty. 

"You silly, Kib. Palagi naman eh." She laughed while saying those words. 

She's my partner in prom. Her boyfriend didn't asked her, instead, he asked his "girl best friend" to be his partner. I know Bien got hurt so much when she knew about her boyfriend's decision. That hurt me too, cause she's... the love of my life, even she only see me as a friend. 

"Oh, here." I handed her the bouquet of flowers. 

"T-thank you, Kib. This... this is the first time I received a flowers." Her voice was cracking. . 

"He never gave me a flower." She said while looking at the bouquet, I see clearly the tears forming in her eyes. 

I didn't respond. I held her hands and we danced. 

3 months later... 

"Happy birthday, babs!" Chat ko ng 12 midnight. 

"Awww, thank you, kapre." She uttered. 

"Buti ka pa binati ako, samantalang si James, inaway pa ako kanina dahil lang sinabi kong nagseselos na ako sa gbf niya." She added. 

"Kung ako yan, di kita gaganiyanin." I responded. 

"Di ka pa nga nagkakagirlfriend, paano mo alam?" She reply. 

"Hayst, you better sleep na. Di ka na babatiin no'n. Goodnight, babs." I ended the conversation. 

Kinabukasan ay nagpunta ako sa bahay nila para ibigay ang gift ko sa kaniya. 

"Oh, babs regalo mo, parinig ka nang parinig sa fb eh, nakakaawa naman kung di kita bibigyan." Pang aasar kong bungad. 

"W-what's this? Is this? The..." Gulat niya dahil sa laki at bigat ng bigay ko. 

"Oo, yung Flower knows ba 'yon na make up product?" Sagot ko. 

"Y-yeah. Thank you, Kib. You're the best!" She said loudly. 

Seeing her happy with simple things I gave her makes me wanna marry her and love her for lifetime. She appreciate those thing so much. 

"Binati ka na ba niya?" Tanong ko

"Hayaan mo na siya, masaya akong nandito ka ngayon." She uttered. 

She love that dumb so much. I don't understand why she love him, what are the thing she love about him. He's such a jerk. 

4 months later...

"Anniversary niyo ngayon ah, bat nandito ka?" Takang tanong ko. 

"I realized na, you're better than him. Bakit ba hindi ko naisip agad 'yon? Nandiyan ka palagi para sakin. Ikaw unang nagbigay ng flowers sakin, nagbibigay ng gift every Christmas at birthday ko. Kino-comfort ako whenever nag aaway kami. Inaalagaan mo ko pag may sakit ako. Kino-compliment mo ako araw araw kahit naiirita na ako. At higit sa lahat ikaw..." Pagpapaliwanag niya. 

"Ako?" Tanong ko sa bitin niyang paliwanag. 

"Ikaw ang mahal ko, Kib." Sabi niya habang nakatingin sa aking mga mata. 

"I love you, Kib. Hindi ko lang agad narealized noon na gaya mo pala dapat ang minamahal at hindi si James. Pasensya ka na, Kib." Yumuko siya habang sinasabi ang mga salitang iyon. 

"I love you more, Bien. I love you since we were in highschool. Natatakot lang ako na baka i-reject mo ako kaya hinayaan kita kay James. I'm so sorry, Bien sa pagiging duwag ko." Nangingiyak kong sabi. 

"Shh, it's okay, Kib. Now, let our heart love who they love." She said and kissed me.
